Ultrabeat are a British dance act from Liverpool, formed in 2002 by DJs and producers Mike “Re-Con” Di Scala, Ian Redman and Chris Henry. Emerging from the city’s happy hardcore and scouse house scene and signed to All Around The World, they broke through in 2003 with their hands-up cover of Force & Styles’ “Pretty Green Eyes”, which reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart.

Feelin’ Fine was their second single, released in December 2003 on All Around The World, and it peaked at number 12 on the UK Singles Chart, also charting in Scotland, Ireland and the Netherlands. Like Pretty Green Eyes, it is a reworking of a Darren Styles hardcore record: the original “Feelin’ Fine” first appeared in 1998 under the alias Unique, written by Darren Mew (Darren Styles) with additional production from Paul Hobbs (DJ Force). Ultrabeat rebuilt it with newly written lyrics and a glossy hard-dance production aimed squarely at the mainstream.

Front man Mike Di Scala later left in 2013 to focus on house duo CamelPhat with Dave Whelan; Ultrabeat, now led by Chris Henry, have remained a fixture of the UK dance circuit ever since.
